TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After nearly a year away from the spotlight, “Wicked: For Good” is finally set to return to theaters on November 21, 2025. The long-awaited sequel will once again spotlight Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda, reuniting the powerhouse duo for what promises to be a dazzling continuation of the story. With anticipation running high, here’s a closer look at what audiences can expect when the witches take flight once more.

Confirmed Casts of Wicked: For Good

As seen on the trailer, leading casts of “Wicked: For Good,” Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande are confirmed to helm the forthcoming sequel of the blockbuster hit. With filming taking place in a back-to-back timeline, other original casts are expected to make appearance.

From Jeff Goldblum (The Wizard), Michelle Yeoh (Madame Morrible), Jonathan Bailey (Fiyero), Marissa Bode (Nessarose), to Ethan Slater (Boq), the second film is dotted with many promising talents.

At the same time, Empire Online reported that Dorothy’s performance in the second movie will most likely be explored from a distant perspective, despite being confirmed for a bigger role previously.

Wicked: For Good Soundtracks

All the songs of “Wicked” have left indelible marks on the Broadway fans, prized to be wonderful for 20 years and beyond. For this, the Oscar-winning movie adaptation “Wicked: For Good” is settling down with the same setlist, which includes:

However, to keep audiences on the edge, “Wicked: For Good,” are set to release two brand-new songs, “The Girl in the Bubble,” by Glinda, and “No Place Like Home,” by Elphaba, as announced on September 17, 2025.

What to Expect from Wicked: For Good

According to a report from AMC, “Wicked: For Good” will run for 2 hours and 18 minutes, marking 22 minutes less runtime than the first set. In this sequence, both main acts will ultimately share heartfelt conversations upon their split in the previous movie.

The previews tease a grand celebration that quickly takes a dramatic turn as Elphaba soars through the sky, etching the words “Our wizard lies” across the clouds while Glinda looks on from below.

Another striking moment shows Elphaba facing off with her former classmate, boldly declaring that she holds “no real power.”

At the end of the emotional previews, Glinda tells Elphaba, “Think of what we could do together,” which sparks an even clattering roar from fans.

Wicked and Its Accomplishments

Last year, the first set of “Wicked,” garnered a staggering $750 million worldwide, and successfully left the theaters with a title of top-grossing film based on a Broadway musical of all time.

Earlier this year, the fantasy phenomenon earned Cynthia Erivo a Best Actress nomination and Ariana Grande a nod for Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards.

Adding to its prestige, “Wicked” also claimed two Oscars at the 97th ceremony: one for Nathan Crowley and Lee Sandales’ dazzling production design, and another for Paul Tazewell’s breathtaking costume work.
