TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Indonesia, Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amudi, said that the assistance of 100 tons of dates from Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz is a form of the Saudi Government's commitment to Muslims throughout the world, especially Indonesia.
"This is a direct directive and instruction from His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Muhammad bin Salman in relation to the attention of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the needs of Muslims throughout the world, especially Indonesia," he said in Jakarta as quoted by Antara, on Friday, February 14, 2025.
"This is also one of the commitments and attention of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in providing its role in the Islamic world through humanitarian assistance," he added.
In the handover of 100 tons of dates for the Indonesian people to the Indonesian Ministry of Religion, Ambassador Faisal said that the assistance was given in order to welcome the holy month of Ramadan 1446 H.
The assistance is not only given to countries with Muslim majorities but also non-Muslim countries throughout the world.
The Saudi Arabian Embassy, upon instruction from the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will not hesitate to open itself up to provide assistance to the Indonesian people, both during Ramadan or also related to the Hajj and Umrah and Islamic issues in general, he said.
Ambassador Faisal hopes that in the future, both countries can achieve their respective stability, security and progress.
"We pray to Allah SWT that both countries and nations will always be given the blessings of stability, security and progress," he said.
Welcoming the month of Ramadan this year, Ambassador Faisal also hopes that the Indonesian people can carry out their fasting properly and in good health.
