Astonishing moment Lane Kiffin gatecrashes couple's engagement on the field

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin took a break from his team's trouncing of The Citadel on Saturday as he crashed the engagement of a couple on the field.

During a break in the action of the 49-0 Mississippi win, a young man got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend in front of their fellow fans at Vaught Hemingway Stadium.

And after taking a few moments to celebrate and pose for photos, they were shocked when Kiffin hopped in the frame to pose alongside them.

Kiffin put his arm around the young man and pointed at the couple as they beamed next to him.

The coach then returned to the sideline as the pair shared a kiss on the field.

'Yeah, I didn't know I'd be part of that,' Kiffin told reporters after the game. 'But, just things happen here in the 'Sip.'

Ultimately, the moment didn't distract from Kiffin's focus on the game as Ole Miss won decisively and moved to 9-1 on the year.

And fans appreciated his gesture towards the newly-engaged couple.

'That's objectively wonderful in every way,' one wrote.

'Lane is the man. Idc who he coaches lol,' another said.

And a third joked: 'Ole miss fans finally got to witness a ring!'

No. 7 Ole Miss will face Florida and rivals Mississippi State in their final two games of the regular season as they look to solidify their standing for the College Football Playoff.
