Josh Philippe is looking to break the stigma around hair loss among men, as the Aussie cricket star has lifted the lid on what it was like to undergo a hair transplant.
The former Western Australia star had started to lose his hair in recent years, and his locks began to thin, he decided to take the plunge and shave his head.
However, he would undergo a hair transplant in April of this year and has been showing off his remarkable results since.
Coincidentally, since he underwent the transplant, the 28-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman, who is studying to obtain a degree in finance, has seen a resurgence in form, averaging 63.33 runs in first-class cricket.
Prior to the procedure, Philippe, who now plays for New South Wales, averaged 29.28 runs.
‘It’s been alright the past few months, so hopefully it can keep going,’ he told Cricket Australia.

The 28-year-old has also been called up to the Australia A squad and has enjoyed an excellent run of games with the side, notably hitting 123 runs unbeaten in the side’s second match against India in Lucknow.
However, Philippe has opened up on his transformation and hopes the stigma around hair loss and transplants will become more normal.
‘Blokes generally don’t talk about it too much,’ Philippe told Cricket Australia.
‘And you know that when you’re kind of going bald, you just get told to shave your head.
‘That’s kinda what happened to me. I did it and I guess I was a bit too young to go through that process.
‘I just wanted to explore what the options were and I reached out to the team at Gro and had a few really good consultations with them.
‘They were pretty optimistic about what it could look like. So I just pulled the trigger and yeah it’s been really good.’
Back in May, Philippe revealed on Instagram that he had 11,000 hairs transferred across to his head.
Philippe has been in flying form in recent months, having hit 123 runs during Australia A's recent clash against India in Lucknow
Six to seven days after his transplant, he was able to wash his hair, and despite a little bit of discomfort, he was quickly able to get back to playing cricket.
‘I’ve had quite a few people reach out to talk about it and I’m always happy to talk about my journey and discuss it.
‘I think it’s becoming a little bit more normal now. Still, knowing that there are some options and ways you can go about it are important to know.’
Philippe has also joined up with Australia's ODI squad in recent weeks for their matches against India, hitting 37 runs and taking three catches from behind the stumps.
