A number of Aussie cricket stars have come under fire after appearing to mock India in a promotional video for a streaming service.

Kayo Sports ran the since-deleted clip ahead of the highly anticipated three-game ODI series, which starts in Perth on October 19.

The likes of Josh Hazlewood, Mitch Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Alyssa Healy and Alana King all feature – and the feedback was savage online from disgruntled Indian supporters, who felt insulted.

'Honestly who likes watching a cricket match involving Australia. There is always some scandal (sandpaper, underarm bowling) and disrespect to the opponents,' fumed one in response.

'This shows how Australians are, they have an arrogant mentality,' posted another.

'Sportsmanship and Australia are like oil and water... they don't mix,' offered a third.

A number of Aussie cricket stars including Josh Hazlewood (pictured) have come under fire after appearing to mock India in a promotional video

Women's star Sophie Molineux opted for the 'double bird' on camera which was astonishing for all the wrong reasons

In the Kayo Sports video, the Aussie stars were making light of India's refusal to shake hands with Pakistan players during the recent Asia Cup.

The Grade Cricketer co-host turned Kayo identity Ian Higgins starts by pointing out a 'critical weakness' for the Indian stars.

The footage then switches to the likes of Jake Fraser-McGurk, Maxwell, Healy, King, Hazlewood and Sophie Molineux, who offer their own 'greetings' that could be used instead of a handshake.

Molineux raises both her middle fingers to the camera and performs the bras d'honneur or Italian salute gesture, which is equivalent to saying 'f**k you' or 'up yours', while Hazlewood's shooting gesture raised eyebrows.

The clip also no longer appears on Kayo's social media platforms, namely TikTok, Instagram and X.

The Daily Mail has contacted Foxtel, which owns Kayo, for comment.

Meanwhile, following the three ODIs in Perth, Adelaide and Sydney, the two nations will also play in five T20 matches ahead of the T20 World Cup in 2026.

Mitchell Marsh will captain both Australian squads, while Indian superstar Virat Kohli is tipped to play in the ODI series as he approaches the twilight of his decorated career.

It could also be the last time fans see Kohli (36) and fellow veteran Rohit Sharma (38) on Australian soil – although the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stressed any retirement decisions will be left in the hands of both stars given their standing in the sport.

Both appear unlikely to feature in the 2027 ODI World Cup for India.

Daily Mail approached Foxtel for comment in relation to the controversial Kayo Sports video.
