Cronulla Sharks star Nicho Hynes has lost his status as footy's most eligible bachelor after his partner Piper Wallis said yes to his stunning proposal on Saturday.

The pair made their engagement official on Sunday with a joint Instagram post showing off their special moment on a superyacht in Sydney Harbour.

Both Hynes and Wallis have published footage of the moment of the proposal, with a heartwarming post, captioned 'us, forever. 29.11.25'.

Their joint reveal is also coupled with the hit song 'Days Like These' by country music star Luke Combs.

The 29-year-old halfback got down on one knee with the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge forming a picturesque backdrop.

It didn't take long for Piper to say yes, with the pair embracing almost immediately after Hynes popped the question.

The post has already been liked almost 14,000 times, with big names from the NRL passing on their best wishes.

'Fam, congrats,' said Eels winger Josh Addo-Carr.

'Congrats my gs,' added Hynes' Sharks teammate Kayal Iro.

'Congrats!!!' added Roosters NRLW star Millie Elliott.

Details of the pair's relationship have been kept mostly private, with the couple getting together in May 2024, but only going public with their romance that October.

Since the reveal, the couple have kept their relationship low-key.

It's what fans have come to expect with Hynes, who is known for keeping the details of his personal life away from the media.

The engagement comes after a whirlwind year for the Sharks halfback.

His side narrowly fell short of the NRL grand final again, after they lost in the preliminary final for the second consecutive year.

Cronulla have not won an NRL premiership since 2016.

However, they have proved to be one of the NRL's most consistent teams.

The club has only missed the play-offs once since 2015.
