Most newsreaders would be horrified if they ended up delivering a bulletin on air with no make-up - but Fox Sports star Charmaine Mifsud has revealed it felt 'amazing' when it happened to her recently.
The former Channel Seven and Sky News reporter and presenter has posted a video of her mishap on Instagram, accompanied by the caption, 'Anchoring the news without makeup (accidentally) for the first time and it felt amazing.'
Mifsud explained that she removed her makeup after mistakenly thinking she had finished her stint on air, only to be called back to deliver another bulletin for the pay TV giant.
The reaction to her reveal on social media was overwhelmingly positive, with her followers leaving comments like, 'Natural beauty!', 'You do a great job with or without makeup' and 'How it should be done. She is raising the bar!'
Mifsud – who has also worked for NBN Television and as a writer for the South Sydney Rabbitohs – has covered a wide range of sports for Fox in addition to reading the news.
She has presented segments on the AFL and NRL, and seems to have a special interest in boxing and MMA, often posting pics and video from fight nights and images of her meeting big-name stars like Tyson Fury, Anthony Mundine and former UFC world champion Israel Adesanya.

Mifsud had no qualms with revealing the slip-up, which would've left most other TV news anchors mortified
The makeup incident isn't the first time she has laughed off an on-air mishap.
Earlier this year Mifsud posted a TikTok video showing her getting the hiccups in the middle of reading a story about cricket, with the lighthearted caption, 'Right on cue.'
Mifsud's no-makeup revelation comes hot on the heels of an announcement about some big changes at Fox Sports.
The broadcaster is making a raft of structural changes ahead of the upcoming NRL season, with former premiership winner Kieran Foran set to take up a permanent role on the network’s rugby league coverage.
Elsewhere, former NRL360 producer Mitch Diffin was appointed as the head of rugby league at the network.
He has been in charge of NRL360 for the past seven years and began his new role at the start of November.
Jamie Lockyer, meanwhile, will become the head of cricket.
Presenter Yvonne Sampson is also due to return to the network after the birth of her baby, Darby.
The former Channel Seven star has reported on a host of sports for Fox, but seems to have a special interest in the fight game
‘In our world it’s hard to find good young producers and I feel like I have probably got the best young producers in Australian broadcasting,’ Fox managing director Steve Crawley said.
'I have worked with a lot of producers and I feel like this might be the best crop I have had. These guys work in a new world where it is not singular what they do.'
After a stellar career on the pitch, the recently retired Foran has been plotting out his future, insisting that he is in no rush to rise to the top of coaching.
The Kiwi footy star has in the past appeared on Fox’s rugby league coverage as a pundit, but is now set to twin his desires to become a top coach with his budding TV career.
