Danica Patrick has been brutally mocked online after leaving fellow Formula One pundit Jenson Button bemused at the Austin Grand Prix.

The ex-NASCAR driver - who works as an F1 analyst for British TV network Sky Sports - was asked by presenter Simon Lazenby for her thoughts on a collision between two drivers which forced one of to retire from the race after seven laps.

And her unusual assessment of the crash drew a viral reaction out of former F1 champion Button.

'Not the best spot to go, you know, like when you make a move in an unusual place, then you get unusual results,' Patrick said as a confused Button turned to stare at the camera. 'Kind of like a turn one sprint, right? You make an unusual move and get unusual results. So I don’t know'.

Fans couldn't resist trolling the MAGA commentator on TikTok, while some even called for her to be axed by Sky Sports.

'Jenson just looks at the camera like “I’m sorry you have to listen to this” can’t imagine what he has to go through stood there,' one user wrote.

Another put: 'like why did she need to add anything, he said it perfectly and then she made no sense and added nothing'.

'She talks for takings sake. She knew it was nonsense as she repeated herself,' said a third.

A fourth commented: 'Why do Sky keep her on??'

While a fifth simply asked: 'how is she still on tv'.

As well as working for Sky, Patrick has become a political commentator over the past year after campaigning for Donald Trump in the run-up to last year's presidential election.

Last week the 43-year-old, who recently claimed Trump will go down as the greatest American president ever, enjoyed a star-studded dinner in Washington DC, where she joined a circle of MAGA favorites for a relaxed night in the capital.

She took to Instagram to share pictures from her night out with the likes of Lara Trump, Tulsi Gabbard , Meghan McCain, Jessica Kraus and Dakota Meyer.
