A late game collapse by the Cincinnati Bengals had a pair of offensive players letting their anger out on the defense through the media.

Down 41-27 to the Chicago Bears with under two minutes to go, Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco hit tight end Noah Fant for a 23-yard touchdown pass to bring Cincinnati within one score.

The Bengals then perfectly executed an onside kick, drove down the field, and set up a touchdown pass to Andrei Iosivas with 54 seconds to go to lead 42-41.

But the Cincinnati defense could not hold on. In four plays, the Bears marched down the field and quarterback Caleb Williams found tight end Colston Loveland to go on top 47-42 after a failed two point conversion. 17 seconds wasn't enough time for Flacco to engineer anything further.

After the game, Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase and running back Chase Brown let their frustrations out.

Chase was seen walking to the locker room and was heard saying out loud, 'One f***ing stop.'

Cincinnati Bengals offensive stars turned on their defense after losing a game to the Bears

After taking a 42-41 lead with less than a minute left, they gave up a 58-yard touchdown pass

Speaking to reporters in the locker room, Chase said that he was hoping 'defense: get a stop' but didn't call out the unit as a whole.

'I'm going to stay in my lane,' Chase said. 'I don't want no defensive player to come chew me out about what the f*** I'm doing.'

Brown, on the other hand, was more explicit in his assessment of the game.

When asked by a reporter about what went through his head after the loss, Brown said, 'Probably the same as what was running through your head like, "What the f***? What the f***?"'

It seems that the offense and defense of the Bengals are on different wavelengths. Brown offered his take on how to prevent it from further deteriorating.

'Just don't turn on each other. We know how they can play. They played really well at the start of the season,' Brown said.

'They did, and they were carrying us on their back. So now that we're stepping up, I think we just got to play complementary football.

'We put the ball in the end zone and go up a point at the end, finish the f***ing game. Just end it. That's it. That's what we need to do. Just end the f***ing game.

Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase was heard yelling for the defense to just get 'one f***ing stop'

RB Chase Brown said his defense was stronger earlier this year. But after the offense scored that late touchdown, the other side of the team needed to 'finish the f***ing game'.

'Get us the ball back. Let us f***ing go to 22 victory and let's end the game. That's how I feel.'

Reporters noted that multiple members of the defense laughed on their way out as they declined requests to speak to the media.

Per Cincinnati sports reporter Mike Patraglia, safety Jordan Battle, and pass rushers Shemar Stewart and TJ Slaton were 'the ones to laugh or decline by saying "catch you on Monday"' while defensive linemen Kris Jenkins and Myles Murphy simply declined.

Since the Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns, the Bengals defense has gone 2-6 and has given up at least 27 points each game.

In the last three games, the Bengals defense has given up 31 points in a win, 39 points in a loss, and 47 points on Sunday.

Cincinnati will hope to pick up the pieces after an upcoming bye week.
