Football fans have ripped into Bill Belichick over his act of 'poor sportsmanship' towards a rival coach on Saturday afternoon.
Belichick watched from the sidelines as his Tar Heels fell to their sixth defeat of the season, this time at the hands of Wake Forest, who secured a 28-12 win on the day.
After the game, Wake Forest's Jake Dickert was seen running over to the former Patriots head coach to shake hands - however Belichick wasn't uninterested.
In a clip that has gone viral on social media, Belichick was seen with his arms folded as he walked across the field and digested the latest loss for his side.
Dickert, in contrast, had rushed to midfield and removed his hat as he approached Belichick, only for the latter to essentially dismiss him as they met for an embrace.
It didn't take long for fans to lament Belichick's attitude and some even went as far as claiming that the NFL legend has 'tarnished his legacy' while at UNC.

Taking to X, one fan wrote: 'This is an awful look for Bill Belichick. When you occupy the space Bill does, you should recognize what these games mean to opposing coaches. Jake Dickert even removed his hat as he approached to shake hands'.
Another said: 'Bill has done the exact opposite of what Brady has done since they left each other, he’s acted with no class and tarnished his legacy.
'Brady cemented his legacy as the greatest ever (unless Mahomes gets 7) this guy keeps digging deeper man!'.
Another disgruntled fan said: 'No eye contact. Poor sportsmanship Belichick . Now go & pout in your coaches room after getting your a** kicked yet again'.
'He got outcoached and so when that young coach comes up for the traditional after game handshake he disses him. Totally on brand for Belichick,' one user said.
'Bill Belichick being a sore loser in another loss and showing no respect to Wake Forest’s coach. Disgraceful,' another wrote on the platform.
After their defeat on Saturday night, Dave Portnoy seemingly questioned Belichick's sanity as the Tar Heels fell to 4-6 for the season.
He posted on X: 'Watching UNC is so frustrating. It's like an alien stole Belichick's brain. Just horribly coached. Horrible decisions.'

He added shortly after: 'Belichick needs to retire. This is disgusting. I'm not even sure he knows the score or where he is.'
To compound Belichick's misery, he is currently dealing with apparent tension among his family as 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson and his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Schmitt, appeared to keep their distance at last week's UNC game.
Schmitt, who at 35 is 11 years older than Hudson, is married to Belichick's son Stephen, who coaches at UNC alongside his father as the defensive coordinator.
The exact status of Schmitt and Hudson's relationship has never been made clear but Schmitt broke rank and criticized the former cheerleader amid the outrage over their excruciating CBS interview back in April.
