TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - When it comes to musical dominance, few benchmarks shine brighter than the number of Top 10 hits an album can generate on the Billboard Hot 100. Not only must an artist’s catalog be filled with masterpieces, but they also need savvy promotion, undeniable charisma, a loyal fan base, and even some hard-to-define elements to match.
For some in the 21st century, these are now second nature. Even more remarkably, stars like Drake and Taylor Swift have achieved this feat not once, but four times.
While the top spot holders come from starkly distinct genres, which are hip-hop and pop, Taylor Swift and her fellow pop powerhouses continue to dominate. Albums like the genre-defining Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream set the bar sky-high, becoming the first album by a female artist to produce five chart-topping singles. Swift herself joined Perry in the elite circle, just a few years later, with her career-shifting pop crossover 1989.
But Swift’s influence on the Billboard 100 of albums with the most top 10 hits doesn’t stop there. As the richest pop star in the world, Taylor Swift has extended her empire beyond dollars, breaking records with each new release. While Midnights (2022) impressively produced 10 of the top 10 hits, The Tortured Poets Department (2024) and The Life of a Showgirl (2025) followed with even bigger feats, at top 14 and top 12, respectively.
Hip-hop and rap have also become major forces on the Billboard charts, with artists like Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Juice WRLD consistently releasing albums packed with chart-topping singles. The success of Drake’s 2018 album Scorpion in landing nine of the top 10 spots was only outdone by himself with Certified Lover Boy, which filled all 10 in 2021. He also returned for the fourth time in five years with For All the Dogs (2023), following his collaborative success with 21 Savage on Her Loss (2022).
What was once considered a niche genre in the mainstream market, country music has also made significant strides. Morgan Wallen’s recent albums, One Thing at a Time and I’m the Problem, show the genre’s growing crossover appeal, breaking into the top 10 charts with six and nine hits, respectively.
