Buffalo Bills dynamo Josh Allen has given a ringing endorsement to New England Patriots star Drake Maye as his 'favorite young quarterback' in the NFL.
The pair are divisional rivals with the Northeastern franchise both vying for the AFC East crown each season.
Allen is viewed as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and is the reigning league MVP, while Maye was the No 3 overall pick in last year's draft.
Maye is entering his second year of professional football after leading the Patriots to a 4-13 record last season.
Yet, despite Jayden Daniels' exploits in Washington, and the potential shown by Bo Nix and Caleb Williams, Allen has zeroed in on Maye for a shoutout.
'I think Drake is super talented, he's one of my favorite young quarterbacks in the league,' Allen said to Sports Illustrated. 'I've spent some time around him and he's got his head on his shoulders the right way. He just does things the right way. I think that he exemplifies football.'

Expectations for Maye are raised in 2025, with Mike Vrabel now leading the team and with more help surrounding the North Carolina alumnus.
Now in New England is Stefon Diggs, a four-time Pro Bowler, reaching the NFL's all-star game during each season he previously played with Allen.
'I think he brings a lot of security for Drake,' Allen said of Diggs. 'Obviously, having the knowledge of playing in the league for so long, he has that veteran mentorship that he can give to Drake.'
Allen and Maye will share the field twice this upcoming season, as all divisional rivals around the NFL do, with that huge respect now publicly known.
Expectations will be high for Allen as well, as he has yet to advance to a Super Bowl in his career.
The Bills have advanced to at least the Divisional playoff round each of the last five seasons, losing before the NFL's championship game to the Kansas City Chiefs in four of those seasons.
