TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Indonesian National Narcotics Agency (BNN) is still investigating the identity of a Russian citizen with the initials 'SK,' who is suspected of masterminding a laboratory producing narcotics, psychotropics, and other addictive substances (narcotics), including mephedrone, in Bali. They plan to bring in a Russian police attaché in Indonesia to assist in the investigation.

"The plan is for tomorrow, Tuesday, March 31, 2026," said BNN Acting Deputy for Eradication, Brigadier General Roy Hardi Siahaan, when contacted on Monday, March 30, 2026.

Roy explained that the presence of the Russian police attaché is expected to help overcome communication barriers in obtaining information from two previously arrested suspects. Both are Russian citizens: a woman with the initials 'NT' and a man with the initials ST. "In addition to their obligations to their citizens, they are also ready to help overcome the obstacles faced by the BNN," Roy said.

In a previous statement, Roy stated that the three suspects are suspected of being connected to each other in operating a drug laboratory located in a villa in Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency, Bali. According to NT and ST, SK acted as the leader in the production activities.

NT and ST had been communicating with SK through social media and other communication apps. "According to the two suspects, SK acted as a financier and facilitator," said Roy.

Roy added that the information provided by the two suspects was still very limited and did not reveal SK's full identity. This situation has hampered investigators in submitting a wanted list (DPO) status for SK to the National Police's International Relations Division. "To date, investigators have not submitted a DPO because they have not yet obtained the complete identity of the DPO," he said.

The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and a joint team arrested NT and ST on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Roy said the two used different identities and frequently moved from villa to villa while in Bali. NT and ST are known to have entered Indonesia in January 2026.

Roy revealed that the total confiscated mephedrone evidence reached 7.3 kilograms gross. The perpetrators imported the raw materials for the drug from China.
