GOAL! Brighton 1-0 Spurs

By Gethin Hicks

It's raining goals early in this weekend's 3pm kick-offs, and Brighton are the latest side to put themselves in the lead.

Minteh is played through behind the Spurs defence before rounding Vicario and knocking the ball home with the outside of his left-foot.

It was close to being offside, but it's given.

1-0 Brighton!

GOAL! Burnley 0-1 Nottingham Forest

By Ian Herbert At Turf Moor

Well, Douglas Luiz has wasted no time demonstrating his value. It was his well-struck if aimless corner, deflected out by Burnley’s Florentino, which Neco Williams ran in to connect with and thump Forest into a lead on 98 seconds.

Spurs 0-0 Brighton

Spurs with the best of the opening exchanges so far.

Frank's side have earnt themselves a couple of corners after crosses from the left.

Still level, for now.

Rain pouring at Turf Moor

By Ian Herbert At Turf Moor

It’s a unremittingly wet afternoon in Burnley. Not the easiest place for the first game on which Ange Postecoglu can be judged as Forest manager.
He’s picked two of the signings driven by head of football Edu - Douglas Luiz and Oleksander Zinchenko - who Nuno, miffed by Edu - left out. It’s the 21st anniversary of Brian Clough.

KICK-OFF: Brighton 0-0 Spurs

By Gethin Hicks

Aaand we're underway.

Spurs, in their black away kit, get us going at the Amex!

Brian Deane's take

By Gethin Hicks

Speaking to Daily Mail Sport via Kasinohai, Brian Deane said:

It's going to be tough, no doubt. I think that it's going to be tough for any team that comes up and Leeds is no different. I definitely feel that. What we've seen so far, they're going to need that in buckets.
That kind of competing against teams, getting in people's faces. The beauty of that, when you're playing at Ellen Road, is that that's the first prerequisite of the fans.So if they can at least do that, and they can make Elland Road a fortress and a place where people feel nervous about coming and playing, not giving teams the opportunity to settle down, then I think they can do quite well.
Because they brought a lot of players from abroad, we’ll have to see. The other thing is the budget, and it's very difficult to compete against even the teams midway into the Premier League.
Because they're established, they'll be able to convince players to come and play for their club a lot easier than it will be for the recruitment for Leeds.

Protests in east London

Attention turns to kick-off now at the London Stadium on a day that saw the first of many protests against the board take place outside the ground this afternoon. More than 1,500 fans gathered this afternoon to demand Karren Brady and David Sullivan step away from the running of West Ham.
The protest was passionate, united and went without incident. Protestors made their point loud and clear: enough is enough and they won't stop until there's change.

New man's in town

Brighton’s new sporting director Jason Ayto is at the Amex ahead of starting his new role on Monday. Ayto, who replaces David Weir in the role, arrives after more than a decade at Arsenal…

Wolves desperate already?!

The front cover of the programme features Toti Gomes making what some interpret as a ‘praying’ gesture. Hopefully it hasn’t got to that stage yet for them, though they desperately need something here after four straight defeats.
And it should be a good time to play Leeds, who are missing wingers Dan James and Wilfred Gnonto, as well as goalkeeper Lucas Perri.

Spurs XI: Simons left out

By Gethin Hicks

Thomas Frank has named his XI for this afternoon's trip to the Amex and Xavi Simons is a surprising omission.

The youngster's looked promising in his first two starts for the club, but perhaps that's taken a toll on his legs.

Palhinha, left on the bench against Villareal, comes back in.

It's that time again!
