TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The chair of the cyber army team, M Adhiya Muzakki (MAM), received hundreds of millions of rupiah to lead a team of news and negative content buzzers about the handling of three major corruption cases by the Attorney General's Office (AGO). The money was received from lawyer Marcella Santoso (MS).
"The total amount of money received by MAM from MS is Rp 864,500,000," said the Director of Investigation of the AGO's Jampidsus, Abdul Qohar Affandi, in a press conference on Wednesday night, May 7, 2025.
Adhiya received the payment through two separate deliveries. The first payment was sent through Indah Kusumawati, a staff member in the finance department of the Ariyanto Arnaldo Law Firm (AALF), amounting to Rp 697,500,000. Meanwhile, the second payment of Rp 167,000,000 was sent through Rizki, a courier at the AALF law office.
With this payment, Adhiya was asked to orchestrate hundreds of buzzers. These buzzers were assigned to respond and provide negative comments on news and negative content directed at the handling of the aforementioned cases by the AGO. "Deploying 150 buzzers to support the negative comments aimed at the investigation and prosecution of the cases carried out by the Attorney General's Office," said Qohar.
According to Qohar's explanation, Adhiya directly led hundreds of active buzzers in giving negative comments on the handling of the cases by the AGO. Five units of buzzer teams were created by Adhiya, ranging from Mustafa 1 to Mustafa 5. "The suspect MAM, at the request of suspect MS, agreed to form a Cyber Army Team and divide the team into 5," he said.
Adhiya is accused of conspiring with lawyers Marcella Santoso and Junaidi Saibih, as well as the non-active Director of News of JakTV, Tian Bahtiar, to form negative opinions against the investigators and public prosecutors of the Attorney General's Office. Therefore, Adhiya is considered to have made an effort to obstruct justice and has been declared a suspect.
"Declaring one person a suspect, the person in question is with the initials MAM as the Chair of the Cyber Army Team," Qohar said again.
The case itself began with the naming of suspects Marcella Santoso and Ariyanto in relation to the alleged bribery of judges in the verdict of oil corruption at the Central Jakarta District Court. Later, the AGO once again named Marcella as a suspect in the case of obstructing an investigation.
The AGO claimed to have found evidence that Marcella asked Junaedi to create a negative narrative about the Attorney General's Office, which is investigating several major cases, namely corruption at PT Timah, sugar import corruption, and oil corruption. Marcella and Junaedi are said to have asked Tian to spread this narrative through Jak TV media.
