Carlos Alcaraz has revealed exactly who is to blame for his new hairstyle, with a buzz cut gone wrong from his brother over the weekend leading to his shaved head.
Alcaraz debuted his new look on Monday night at the US Open, taking down American Reilly Opelka, while wearing an all-purple outfit, that would have gotten plenty of attention if his hairdo change was not shocking.
The 22-year-old Alcaraz has three brothers, Alvaro, Sergio, and Jaime, with him not volunteering which sibling he blames for losing his locks.
'My brother misunderstood with the machine he cut it,' Alcaraz, 22, told reporters after beating Opelka. 'And the only way to fix it is to shave it off.'
'To be honest, it’s not that good. Its not that bad, I guess.'
It is the first major hairdo change for Alcaraz since his rise to superstardom on the court began a few years ago.

Alcaraz clearly is not a fan of his changed hair himself, with him aiming to win a US Open title
The reaction to Alcaraz's new hair has come from multiple associates, including golfer Rory McIlroy, who said he liked the change, similar to his own drastic haircut earlier in the summer.
Alcaraz's fellow tennis pro, American Frances Tiafoe, was not as kind about the Spaniard's look.
'I mean, it's definitely terrible,' Tiafoe said. 'He's my guy though. It's funny. I looked at him and I was like, I guess you're aerodynamic.'
'I don't know who told him that it's good. I don't know who told him to do that, but it's terrible. From a guy who gets haircuts week in, week out, and prides myself on good haircuts, it's horrendous.'
Alcaraz is among the favorites to win the men's singles title at tennis' final major of the year, as he has appeared in the championship match of the last two, splitting a pair of results with world No 1 Jannik Sinner.
He'll play his second official match with a shaved head on Wednesday night, as he takes on unranked Italian Mattia Bellucci with a spot in the third round on the line.
