Chris Jones definitely wanted to relish in the Kansas City Chiefs first victory of the season, adding salt into an open wound for the New York Giants and starting quarterback Russell Wilson

After the 22-9 victory on Sunday evening, Jones revealed that he and Wilson had a pre-planned jersey swap, and it did not go down for an unclear reason.

Yet, the defensive star, while still donning his No 95 kit, was dismissive about trading jerseys with the former Super Bowl winner after dismantling the NFC East team when asked by NBC sideline reporter Melissa Stark moments after the final whistle.

'I don't even want it. It's all good. I don't want it,' Jones said. 'Over time, you kind of understand that, "Nah, I don't even want it. It's love and war."'

Wilson, who spoke to the media after the loss to the Chiefs, did not address Jones' comments, as he was likely more focused on keeping his status as the Giants starter.

New York is 0-3 with many fans hoping for massive change within the team after another disappointing start to a season, with many pointing the finger at Wilson.

Chiefs defensive star Chris Jones took a dig at Giants quarterback Russell Wilson on Sunday

Wilson and Jones were supposed to do a jersey swap that did not end up taking place

Among the massive changes typically made by teams looking to kickstart their season is a change at quarterback, or firing the head coach.

Giants boss Brian Daboll must know he has one of the hottest seats in the NFL and may bench Wilson to preserve his time in the Big Apple.

The calls for a new signal caller have only intensified since Daboll was part of the decision to trade back into the first round of this year's NFL Draft to select Jaxson Dart, with New York fans ready for a young, exciting quarterback.

Wilson, who turns 37 in November, has had one great start for the team thus far, in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys.

His other two starts under center, against playoff contenders in the Chiefs and Washington Commanders, have left Giants fans wanting to see much less of Wilson.

Jones' disrespect may have not been meant as a massive dig, with his timing being everything to add fuel to the fire that Wilson is not long for running the Giants' offense.
