TEMPO.CO, Bagor - Bogor Police has banned large vehicles such as trucks and buses with three axles from passing through the Puncak route at 6:00 pm and above since the Christmas and New Year holiday security operation. In addition, Bogor Police predicted that the spike or peak of tourists traveling to the Puncak area during this holiday season will occur from Friday to Sunday, December 27 to 29, 2024.
"We have prohibited three-axle vehicles since yesterday to pass through Puncak route since 6 p.m. for the safety and comfort of tourists who are on vacation with their families during the Christmas and New Year holidays," said Bogor Police Chief Adj. Sr. Commissioner Rio Wahyu Anggoro at the Gadog Ciawi Police Post, Thursday, December 26, 2024.
Rio said that although the volume of vehicles today is not as large as the previous day, his institution predicted that tourist arrivals will increase from this Friday until December 29. Therefore, tourists who plan to visit Puncak are encouraged to pay attention to the traffic engineering the police will implement to avoid getting stuck in long queues.
In addition, specifically on Wednesday, December 31, 2024, the authorities will close the Puncak route from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2025.
"We will introduce a car-free night on New Year's Eve. We appeal to residents who want to spend New Year's Eve in Puncak to pay attention to the schedule. Come as early as possible to avoid being stuck in traffic or car congestion," Rio said.
