Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney explodes at his players in incredible sideline meltdown: 'Breaking point'

Clemson Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney was seen going ballistic at his players in a stunning sideline meltdown during their defeat to the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday.

After they gave up 28 points in a miserable first half at Clemson Memorial Stadium, ESPN cameras spotted Swinney marching over to his team's defensive bench and losing his cool in astonishing fashion.

The 55-year-old got in the face of a number of his players while making his frustration known, including safety Khalil Barnes.

'They got 28 damn points on you!' he was heard saying during his explosive tirade.

Duke had just converted their fourth touchdown of the half on a fourth fourth-down try, with quarterback Darian Mensah finding Que'Sean Brown behind Clemson's secondary for a 43-yard score to level the game at 28-28 in the final 20 seconds of the half.

In the end, the Blue Devils went on to snatch a 46-45 victory on the road after recording 11 vital points in the fourth quarter.

Swinney, one of the longest-tenured coaches in college football, is under serious pressure amid Clemson's worst campaign in recent memory.

The Tigers are now 3-5 and 2-4 in ACC play having failed to live up to expectations this term after being ranked No 3 in AP's preseason poll.

They haven't had a losing season under two-time national champion Swinney since 2010, his third year in charge.

'I feel like I'm in 2010 all over again,' he joked after their latest defeat.

Clemson linebacker Wade Woodaz said this season has made him sick. 'It's not like we're not practicing. It's not like we're not working,' he said. 'It hurts.'

Swinney's Tigers play Florida State next week before road games at Louisville and rival South Carolina.
