A community college in Los Angeles is going viral for having multiple players over the age of 40 on the roster of their football team.

Compton College is a nearly 100-year-old institution - with alumni including rappers Snoop Dogg and Coolio, Minnesota Twins owner Carl Pohlad, and former NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle.

But the Coyotes football team is generating headlines for having a father-and-son on the squad - as well as another player who's hit a half-century of life.

Compton College finished its season going 0-10, having forfeited the final two games of the campaign and being outscored 480-12. The team is on a 35-game losing streak as well.

But, they're gaining just as much notoriety for their roster. On it is 45-year-old Lamar Willis, a wide receiver and a former Compton mayoral candidate.

Not only that, but his son - Josiah Willis - is also on the team and plays as defensive back.

The team also includes a 50-year-old defensive end/linebacker on its roster

Not only that, but the roster also includes 50-year-old defensive end/linebacker Orson Villalobos.

Fans reacted on social media accordingly: 'Only in JUCO can you find a 50-year-old linebacker, but even that couldn't save an 0-10 season,' one user on X posted.

Another remarked, 'Imagine lining up against your dad in practice, then both losing 48 to nothing together.'

'The scoreline is brutal, but the commitment shown by players like the 50-year-old is the real story here,' a different fan wrote.

'480-12 scoring margin, then forfeiting the last two games. When your 45-year-old WR and 50-year-old DE are your best options, the data already told you how this season ends,' another stated.

Older players in junior college have become common in recent years. Back in 2022, 49-year-old Ray Ruschel put on the pads for the North Dakota State College of Science football team.
