Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott will not face any further punishment after a Week 1 incident against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Footage from the opening game of the NFL season showed Prescott spit on the ground before the first play of the contest - in the vicinity of injured fullback Ben VanSumeren, who was later carted off the field.
This attracted the attention of Philadelphia pass rusher Jalen Carter, who took Prescott's actions personally.
Carter confronting Prescott, later claiming the quarterback's actions were 'hostile', and then spit back at the Cowboys quarterback.
Officials saw Carter spit at him, flagged him for unsportsmanlike conduct, and then promptly ejected him from the game.
While Prescott will not receive any further punishment for the action which sparked the tiff, Carter was punished by the league.

The NFL upheld the suspension from the game and fined him $57,222. That amount is equivalent to the game check Carter earns each week.
Losing Carter was a temporary blow as the Eagles still managed to beat the Cowboys 24-20 to open their season.
Prescott avoided being sacked, but only tossed 21 completions for 188 yards on the day.
The Cowboys are set to open their home schedule this Sunday against the New York Giants.
