Los Angeles Dodgers star Alex Vesia was a noticeable absentee at their World Series parade on Monday as he and his wife continue to battle through a 'deeply personal family matter' behind the scenes.
Just over 24 hours on from their dramatic Game 7 win over the Toronto Blue Jays, Dodgers players and coaches returned home to LA on Monday to parade their second straight championship in front of their adoring fans.
Vesia, however, was not spotted on the open-top bus or at the ticketed celebration which took place at Dodger Stadium later in the day.
Late last month the Dodgers announced that the pitcher, who did not play in any of the World Series games against the Blue Jays, and his wife Kayla were dealing with an undisclosed family matter that would keep him away from the team.
'The entire Dodgers organization is sending our thoughts to the Vesia family, and we will provide an update at a later date,' the statement read on October 23.
Alex and Kayla announced in April that they were expecting their first child together, a baby girl, and were documenting their exciting journey on social media.

At the time of writing, neither of them have posted since October 18, when they each gushed about the prospect of the World Series in separate posts.
After they clinched a second consecutive title on Saturday, Vesia's fellow Dodgers pitcher Will Klein gave him and Kayla a shoutout.
'We’ve all messaged him,' Klein said. 'We just want him to know that he’s in our hearts, and we did this all for him.'
'He’s such a big part of why we’re here in the first place, and so just to be able to get this for them — there are harder places to be than on a World Series mound,' Klein continued. 'And so, what they’re going through isn’t great.'
He also explained how the Blue Jays paid tribute to him by including '51 - his jersey number - on their baseball caps.
The 2025 campaign was Vesia's fifth with the Dodgers, having been traded to the team by the Miami Marlins back in 2021.
