Nico Harrison has already let the world know he is unemployed in his Instagram bio just hours after being fired as general manager of the Dallas Mavericks.
The 52-year-old, who had been under huge pressure ever since Dallas traded superstar Luka Doncic to the LA Lakers earlier this year, was dismissed by the Mavericks on Tuesday amid their nightmare 3-8 start to the season.
Owner Patrick Dumont confirmed that he has been shown the door after four years as GM, insisting the decision was 'critical to moving our franchise forward in a positive direction.'
And on the very same day his firing was announced by Dallas, eagle-eyed basketball fans spotted that Harrison wasted no time in adding 'unemployed' to his bio on Instagram.
The fired exec's brutal dig at himself earned him sympathy from the NBA world, with one user writing on X: 'someone get my boy on LinkedIn'.
'Being able to laugh at yourself is one of the good gifts a person can have,' said another before they added, 'Though most of the trades he oversees [are] actually laughable'.

While another simply put: 'Savage.'
Assistant GMs Michael Finley and Matt Riccardi will now be given the interim role of leading basketball operations, according to ESPN.
Back in June, Dallas landed former Duke star Cooper Flagg with the first overall pick of the 2025 NBA draft but less than five months later, Harrison is out of a job.
Doncic, meanwhile, has helped the Lakers make an 8-3 start in his first full season in Los Angeles.
Back in February, Doncic, Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris were traded to LA for Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a 2029 first-round pick. 'We're built to win now and in the future,' Harrison said at the time.
But the Mavericks general manager faced relentless criticism over the move, which caught both fans and Doncic himself by surprise.
A couple of months later, amid the backlash, Harrison was asked why he should not be fired. 'I think I've done a really good job here and I don't think I can be judged by the injuries this year,' he said.
'You have to judge from totality - from beginning to end. I think I have a really good working relationship with Patrick [Dumont] - add in [CEO] Rick [Welts] - the leadership we have is really elite. And you'll see next year - when our team comes back - we're going to be competing competing for a championship.'
