England 27 - 23 Argentina PLAYER RATINGS: Who didn't do enough on his chance? Which forward has been outstanding? And who can still improve hugely as Steve Borthwick's side survive late scare

31 minutes ago 3

England completed their flawless Autumn international run with a hard-fought 27-23 win against Argentina.

First-half tries from Max Ojomoh and Immanuel Feyi-Waboso put Steve Borthwick's side in the lead before a fight back from Argentina in the second.

A late try from Rodrigo Isgro however wasn't enough as England held on for the win.

Here, Daily Mail Sport's Alex Bywater rates the players from both teams.

ENGLAND

Freddie Steward - 6 - Isolated in contact, allowing his old Leicester captain Julian Montoya to win a breakdown penalty. Solid enough otherwise.

Immanuel Feyi-Waboso - 7 - Showed trademark speed for try but also worked incredibly hard chasing kicks. Still more to come.

Henry Slade - 7 - He’s been on fire for Exeter this season but this was his first autumn involvement. Strong tackle forced an Argentina knock on and scored crucial second-half try.

It was a hard-fought clash with Argentina coming back in the second half but ultimately the hosts held on

Max Ojomoh - 8.5 - Late replacement for Fraser Dingwall. Collected the kick-off, raced clear to score and his kick to Feyi-Waboso was brilliant vision. Penalised for holding on but then set-up Slade. Stand-out performer.

Elliot Daly - 5 - First game of the season after recovering from broken arm on Lions duty. Quiet, but you could understand why.

George Ford - 6.5 - Hero from New Zealand hit another drop goal to get the scoreboard moving. One charge down, a rare penalty miss and pushed another drop goal effort wide but boot was key.

Ben Spencer - 5.5 - He is a solid tactical kicker but didn’t do enough to put pressure on first-choice Alex Mitchell given a rare chance to start.

Ellis Genge - 6 - Penalised at two scrums, although he did make amends for one of them. Good battle with Pedro Delgado before making way for Fin Baxter.

Luke Cowan-Dickie  - 7.5 - Did well to hold Argentina up over the England try line. Had try at end of first period ruled out. Abrasive edge key to this success.

Asher Opoku-Fordjour  5 - It wasn’t all down to him. Will Stuart replaced him early in second half.

Maro Itoje (capt) - 7 - He’s led his team to a first autumn clean sweep since 2017 and England are now 11 unbeaten. What a year he’s had. A nuisance to the Pumas at the line-out before limping off after series of blows.

Henry Pollock performed well off the bench and earns a 7.5 in our player ratings

Alex Coles - 7 - He’s an important England component even if others are probably ahead of him in the pecking order. Nice to see a lock galloping in the loose! Sin binned at the death.

Guy Pepper - 6 - He’s started all four November matches, reflective of his status as a coming force. Importantly, he can still improve significantly.

Sam Underhill - 6.5 - Rampaged forward from neat short line-out. Lots and lots of life in him yet but replaced by Tom Curry.

Ben Earl - 7 - He’s had an outstanding month. Perhaps not at the heights of previous games here despite one notable breakdown win but he’s one of the first names on the team sheet. Stole possession at the death to win it.
