England have retained their UEFA European Under-21 Championship crown after overcoming Germany 3-2 in a rollercoaster of a final.
Lee Carsley's Young Lions, who also won the tournament in Georgia and Romania two years ago, needed extra time against Germany after letting slip a two-goal lead.
England made a dream start in Bratislava when Harvey Elliott, fresh from scoring twice in the semi-final win over the Netherlands, fired Carsley's side in front inside five minutes.
It got even better for England midway through the first half when Omari Hutchinson found the net following fine work by James McAtee.
But Germany's fightback began on the stroke of half-time as Nelson Weiper powered home with a headed effort.
It was 2-2 on the hour mark when Paul Nebel was afforded too much space and he curled home impressively after England had failed to clear from a corner.
Germany came agonisingly close to winning the game deep into added time when Nebel struck the crossbar. But England survived and the contest went into extra time.
Extra time was less than 90 seconds old when England retook the lead courtesy of a diving header from Jonathan Rowe after a brilliant cross by fellow sub Tyler Morton.
