Major League Baseball and Mastercard held another cancer drive during Game 2 of the World Series in Toronto on Saturday night.

But as well intentioned as it may have been, the accompanying mid-game Jonas Brothers performance was one step too far for many baseball fans.

With the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays knotted at 1-1 coming out of the fifth inning, the league cut to its StandUpToCancer drive, which traditionally involves fans holding up signs with cancer victims in their lives. As always, information for the SU2C is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization flashed across the screen, giving fans details on how they can raise money for cancer awareness and research.

But before the sixth inning got under way, the Fox broadcast cut to the aging boy band for a quick rendition of one of their songs.

Fans were displeased.

'Pausing the World Series for the Jonas Brothers…guys I think I can speak for 99% of those affected by cancer and say we don't need this,' one fan wrote on X.

Baseball fans were less than thrilled to see the Jonas Brothers' performance on Saturday

'We are interrupting your World Series game so that the Jonas Brothers can sing about how much cancer sucks,' joked another.

Another fan tried to put the moment into perspective.

'The Stand Up to Cancer segments are always moving, seeing the names on tens of thousands of signs, the indicator of how cancer has impacted so many lives,' they wrote. 'It is a worthy 3 minute interruption in the game.

'Having the Jonas Bros lipsynch for 3 additional minutes was not.'

Like countless others, the Jonas brothers have been impacted by cancer. Their father, Kevin, was diagnosed with stage II colon cancer in 2017, but was in remission by the end of the year. One of the brothers even held up a sign honoring their living father during the misguided performance.

As one fan wrote: 'Cancer vigil and a jonas brothers concert in the middle of a 1-1 world series game is actually insane.'
