Erling Haaland showed off a new move to fans after scoring against Bournemouth on Sunday.

The Norwegian striker continued his incredible season as he netted his 12th Premier League goal of the campaign after just 17 minutes of action at the Etihad.

Haaland ran onto Rayan Cherki's deft header and burst away from the Cherries defence before he calmly slotted past Djordje Petrovic.

As he wheeled away, Haaland stopped and performed the robot, a celebration that was synonymous with top flight cult hero and former Liverpool, Tottenham and Stoke City star Peter Crouch

And Haaland's actions left fans in stitches, who were quick to comment on social media.

One said: 'Haaland just did the the robot celebration. I love this guy.'

Several fans just reacted to a clip of Haaland's celebration with laughing emojis, while others nodded to Crouch's history with the move.

A user said: 'Did he lose a bet @petercrouch?,' before another chimed in with: 'Peter Crouch are you watching?'

A further individual noted: 'Peter Crouch's celebration is generational. Erling Haaland had nothing on him.'

Others questioned whether Haaland's celebration was rather in relation to his status as goal-scoring machine.

One said: 'A robotic celebration for a robot of a centre forward.'

Bournemouth quickly bounced back and equalised through Tyler Adams after he pounced on a rare mistake from Gianluigi Donnarumma.

However, Haaland restored City's lead when he was played in again by Cherki and rounded Petrovic before he finished well.

This time he chose not to celebrate with the robot though, leaving fans disappointed.
