REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — A warm atmosphere enveloped Erick Thohir's farewell event as SOE Minister at Danareksa Tower, Jakarta, Friday (19/9/2025). Deputy Minister of SOE, Dony Oskaria, expressed respect and pride for Erick's leadership as a figure full of sincerity, clear direction, and imparting value to all SOE people.
“I am here one example of Mr. Erick's success story. I felt lucky for more than four years, I was educated, taught, loved knew what to do. And that's a value that makes us all feel,” Dony said.
Dony insists that Erick's candor teaches the entire ranks of SOEs to work hard, focus, and not deviate from the big goals. According to him, the direction given by Erick has instilled a big dream for state enterprises.
“Therefore for us, Mr. Erick is a legend in SOE. I don't think anyone in this space does not feel the utilization, guidance, sincerity of Mr. Erick in our lives who built us with a broad, straight, firm direction, and a clear dream,” Dony said.
Dony also said that many achievements today are the brainchild of Erick. One of them was the initiation of the establishment of SOE holding which became a great legacy.
“You initiated the existence of a state-owned holding, I just ran and made it happen. Therefore, the big dream must be realized by us together. If we succeed in realizing this, it is the dream of Mr. Erick Thohir to make these state-owned enterprises healthy,” Dony continued.
According to him, the journey of building SOEs is still long and full of challenges. Such efforts are unlikely to be completed in just one period of leadership.
“And not a single person has been able to do that in a period of six years. There's still a long way to go. Therefore, not only me but all SOE employees feel sad and lost today,” Dony said.
Despite the difficulty of releasing Erick, Dony said the entire SOE ranks were proud because the minister was believed to have greater trust. He judged that Erick's departure was an opportunity for the nation to look at the contribution more broadly.
“For us on the one hand we are willing to leave, but on the one hand we also feel proud that you have earned the task of making our country an even greater country. God willing, what you aspire to, you leave to all of us, this we will definitely accept,” Dony said.
Dony closed his statement with prayers and full support for Erick Thohir in his new position as Minister of Youth and Sports. He hoped that Erick would always be protected in carrying out duties for the good of the nation.
“We wish you success in a new place. You are protected by Allah SWT, given the leadership to carry out the duties. We love and love each other, Father. We are in love with Mr. Erick Thohir. We are dear to Mr. Erick Thohir,” Dony said.
