Zoe Caswell, the fiancee of Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel, took a needless swipe at the team on social media after they lost to San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
It comes as Shedeur Sanders continues to play in place of Gabriel after replacing him as the team's quarterback in the Week 11 loss to Baltimore Ravens, when Gabriel got concussed. Sanders then kept his position with Gabriel hurt for the following game against Las Vegas Raiders, where he impressed and the Browns won.
He continued in the job at Gabriel's expense against the 49ers and despite a 26-8 loss, Sanders will start again this coming Sunday against the struggling Tennessee Titans.
Meanwhile Caswell, on Sunday night, shared a TikTok video of her picking her outfit for the 49ers game, which she captioned: 'Browns loss what's new' along with a crying-with-laughter emoji.
And despite plenty of criticism in the comments, she insisted her caption had no ill-meaning behind it.
'I completely support the team 100%! Gotta laugh about the losses or else we'll cry,' she wrote back to one fan who had said they were 'disappointed' in her caption and that she should 'support his (Gabriel's) team whether he is in it or not'.

Caswell defended her caption, but not all of her followers were impressed by her wording
Another unhappy comment read: 'I don’t remember these captions when ya man was qb1.'
And a different observer wrote: 'When did you ever use this caption when your husband lost?'
Caswell seemed to acknowledge the criticism that was coming her way, commenting under her post: 'For everyone complaining about the caption, I obviously am cheering for the Browns… it’s clearly a joke. If we don’t laugh, we cry.'
The loss to the playoff-chasing 49ers leaves the Browns at 3-9 for the season in the AFC North but they will be favorites Sunday against the Titans, who at 1-11 are the worst team in the NFL as it stands.
Fifth-round pick Sanders went 16-25 against San Francisco for 149 yards and one touchdown, another decent display without showing enough to convince head coach Kevin Stefanski that the quarterback position is completely his own just yet.
Sanders said after the game: 'There's definitely things on film I'm going to look back and want to get back and want to see but at least moving forward I know what we could do differently going about the week and being able to get fully, fully prepared for every possibility.'
Gabriel, meanwhile, had six starts before losing his place to Sanders. He came in for one snap on Sunday, near the end of the fourth quarter, after Sanders appeared to hurt his ankle before returning to the field.
Gabriel and Caswell first met at high school and got engaged in September 2024, before Gabriel made the step up into the NFL.

The Browns drafted Gabriel, the Oregon quarterback, with the 94th pick. He was one of four to join the team in the offseason, along with Sanders, Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett.
Flacco and Pickett have both since been traded, with Deshaun Watson also in the background recovering from Achilles surgery.
After the Titans, the Browns round out the season with a tough run against several playoff-chasing organizations.
They meet Chicago Bears on Dec. 14 and a week later, host Buffalo Bills followed by another home game on Dec. 28 against Pittsburgh Steelers. The regular season then ends on Jan. 4 against Cincinnati Bengals and the rebuild for 2026 comes in to sharper focus.
