TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Director of Drug Investigation (Dirnarkoba) of the Jakarta Metro Police, Senior Commissioner Donald Parlaungan Simanjuntak, filed an appeal after being dismissed from the National Police. Donald was proven to be involved in the extortion case against the audience of the Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP 2024) on December 13-15, 2024.

"As of today, two have been decided. The Director (Donald) and the Head of Unit with the PTDH decision. They are appealing it," said Kompolnas Commissioner Choirul Anam at the TNCC Building, National Police Headquarters, Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Anam said the investigation process for this case is still ongoing. Today, Thursday, January 2, 2024, three police officers will also undergo a Code of Ethics Commission hearing at the TNCC Building, National Police Headquarters. One of them is the Head of Sub-Directorate 3, Drug Investigation Directorate, Metro Jaya Police, AKBP Malvino Edward.

"Today, three people (will undergo an ethics hearing). Two are new and one is continuing yesterday's process with the initials M (Malvino). So all of these processes are still ongoing," said Anam. Even so, he could not confirm how long this investigation process would last.

Previously, the Head of the Propam Division of the National Police, Inspector General Abdul Karim, explained that 18 members of the National Police consisting of personnel from the Metro Jaya Police, Central Jakarta Police, and Kemayoran Police were proven to have violated the code of ethics. They are suspected of extorting 45 Malaysian citizens when they were about to attend the DWP music concert in Indonesia.

The police on duty in the drug investigation conducted random urine tests on the audience, then they threatened to detain the person if they did not pay the ransom. Both those who tested positive for drug use and those who did not. According to Abdul Karim, the amount of the ransom varies.

"A total of 45 Malaysian citizens were victims of extortion with the value of the evidence secured amounting to Rp2.5 billion," he said at the National Police Headquarters Building, Tuesday, December 24, 2024.
