Footy fan proves why Snoop's AFL grand final performance was WAY better than his show at the Super Bowl

The Super Bowl is one of the biggest sporting spectacles on the planet, but when it comes to delivering bang for buck, a new video has proved nothing beats the MCG in Melbourne, Australia.

And American rap icon Snoop Dogg has become the curious case study that proves it.

At the 2022 Super Bowl LVI halftime show, Snoop Dogg joined Dr Dre to perform The Next Episode and California Love, later returning with the full cast for Still D.R.E. before more than 103 million viewers.

The performance, which boosted streams of his classics by over 200 per cent, was widely praised as a historic moment for hip hop on America’s biggest stage.

Then Snoop came down under to perform at the 2025 AFL Grand Final on the weekend.

Snoop delivered a 14-minute medley at the MCG before 100,000 fans and nearly 4 million TV viewers. His set included Drop It Like It’s Hot, Gin and Juice, and duets with Jessica Mauboy, Baker Boy and Tash Sultana.

One fan’s viral video revealed why Snoop Dogg’s AFL Grand Final performance eclipsed his Super Bowl show

Tiffany Krylov compared Snoop’s Super Bowl and AFL shows, proving Melbourne’s MCG smashed SoFi Stadium’s audio

Australian internet personality Tiffany Krylov was at both events, saying the MCG provided the better-quality Snoop Dogg set than SoFi Stadium in California – and she has the video footage to prove it.

'So I saw Snoop Dogg play Superbowl LVI, all that money on tickets just to not hear s**t,' she said.

'I'll put a clip in now so you will know what I mean.'

The video then cut to Snoop Dogg performing at Super Bowl, with almost no sound reaching fans in the upper seats.

'It's OK, though, because I wasn't there for Snoop, I was there to watch my team lose,' Krylov said.

Krylov continued by saying she was going to the AFL Grand Final, where Snoop Dogg was once again the featured entertainment.

'This is basically our Super Bowl and Snoop is the opening act,' she said.

'So we're going to see if we can hear him at the 'G.'

For consistency, Krylov sat in the nosebleed seats at the MCG, just like she did at Super Bowl. And the audio was crystal-clear and loud this time around.

She then shared vision from the MCG where Snoop Dogg was the entertainment for the AFL Grand Final

'See? It's not that hard to hear it,' she said.

The bullring shape and design of the MCG helped everyone in attendance get a crystal clear view and audio from Snoop Dogg's performance.

However another footy fan pointed out Taylor Swift also played a role.

'One reason it sounds so good is that the MCG invested millions into improving the sound system before Taylor Swift came,' they posted.

'I saw Taylor Swift at the G. Best acoustics of any outdoor stadium concert I’ve ever been to,' another fan confirmed.

In 2024, the Melbourne Cricket Ground completed a $25million audio upgrade featuring 3,000 sqm of Megasorber panels.

These lightweight, fire-resistant acoustic panels were installed across walls and ceilings, dramatically reducing reverberation times in Level 1 bays and the Atrium.

Taylor Swift’s ERAs Tour forced the MCG’s $25million audio overhaul, ensuring Snoop Dogg’s Grand Final sounded flawless

The upgrade transformed the MCG from an acoustically harsh concrete venue into a clearer, more balanced listening environment praised by both artists and fans.

Taylor Swift’s record-breaking ERAs Tour shows and Ed Sheeran’s sell-out concerts showcased the improvement, with vocals and crowd sound distinctly sharper and free of echo.

Project Manager Linda Huddart praised the results, noting the significant difference in sound quality after installation.

'We just could not believe the difference it made after the installation of the Megasorber acoustic panels,' she said.

'The product blends in nicely. We are very impressed with the outcome.'
