Footy star Jesse Ramien clearly isn't afraid of heading to the tattoo parlour if his back is any guide - and his latest body ink is nothing short of incredible.

Ramien, 28, had work done in Queensland and Indonesia, with Maroochydore based Mr. Ink Tattoo Lounge and Mr. Ink Bali combining to tell the story of the NRL player's son, who was born six weeks premature in October last year.

Following his birth in a Balinese hospital, Teo Ramien needed to be resuscitated for five minutes.

At the time, the Cronulla Sharks and the NRL worked closely with the Australian Embassy in Indonesia to rubber stamp the paperwork required to see Teo flown to Australian shores.

Many NRL players - from rival clubs - quickly donated to the cause via a GoFundMe page, including the likes of AJ Brimson, Keaon Koloamatangi, Sitili Tupouniua, Jacob Saifiti, Taane Milne and Hame Sele.

Sharks players who helped out their teammate were Nicho Hynes, Siosifa Talakai, Briton Nikora, Jack Williams, Braden Hamlin-Uele, Blayke Brailey and Billy Burns.

Teo Ramien was born prematurely in Bali last October and a GoFundMe was launched for his safe transport back to Australia

Last month Ramien and his partner Shell returned to Bali for their wedding (pictured, at the Dally M awards)

Ramien, 28, has been tipped to leave the Sharks at the end of next season, with the Cowboys reportedly interested in securing his services

News of the Ramien's family dilemma left footy fans divided given the centre earns a reported $600,000-per-year at Cronulla.

One X user named Eaglerock pointed to his salary, posting: 'I get the premise, he's in a pickle, but come on man. '(For me) it's a bit rich putting your hand out (via a GoFundMe page) when you're a pro athlete.

'This isn’t reading the room very well. Most fans couldn’t fathom what he gets paid,' said another.

Ramien's wife Shell was 33-weeks pregnant at the time - and before leaving Sydney, the couple secured clearance from her obstetrician.

This was in addition to clearance from the airline and travel insurance cover for her pregnancy.

Last month the couple tied the knot in Bali - and the Indigenous star said the experience involving Teo reinforced how quickly priorities in life shift - and how important family support is in tough times.

'Family is everything for me,' he said.

'You never want to go through something like that, but it shows you who you can lean on. We were lucky to have great people in our lives when it mattered most.'

It comes as Ramien has been tipped to leave the Sharks at the end of next season.

North Queensland are said to be keen to secure Ramien on their books from 2027 onwards as they lack punch in their backline.

Ramien’s management also held talks recently with the Perth Bears - but Daily Mail understands the new expansion club are now targeting other options.
