South Sydney winger Tyrone Munro is facing an uncertain future after he was stood down by the NRL under the no-fault stand down policy.

It follows the 20-year-old being charged with alleged domestic abuse involving his partner.

Earlier this month, Munro was charged by NSW police after an alleged incident of domestic abuse.

'The National Rugby League (NRL) has advised South Sydney Rabbitohs player Tyrone Munro is subject to the No-Fault Stand Down condition under the NRL Rules,'  a statement read.

'The NRL is aware that NSW Police charged Munro with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and stalking or intimidation with intent to cause fear of physical or mental harm on October 14, 2025.

'The decision should in no way be interpreted as a view on the innocence or guilt of the player.

'Under the condition, Munro is not permitted to participate in the NRL competition or related competitions.'

Munro has scored 13 tries in 19 games for South Sydney since his 2023 debut.

NSW Police said in a statement that officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command initiated an investigation after a woman reported she had been assaulted by her partner in April 2025.

Following inquiries, NSW Police said: 'a 20-year-old man was arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station where he has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (domestic), stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic), common assault (domestic)'.

Munro was granted conditional bail to appear in Burwood Local Court in Sydney's inner-west on October 30.

South Sydney released a statement earlier this month confirming it had informed the NRL Integrity Unit about the alleged incident and charges.

The statement added the NRL club 'take all allegations of domestic violence very seriously, and will take appropriate action if the allegations and charges are proven.'

Daily Mail understands that Munro's lawyer has indicated he plans to fight the charges.
