Former England footballer Adam Lallana is selling his seaside mansion for double what he paid for it - an astonishing £12 million.

The ex-Liverpool player has listed the opulent home with sea views for a staggering £12 million just four years after buying it for £6.3 million.

Lallana bought the luxury property with his wife Emily after he relocated to the south coast following his move from Liverpool to Premier League rivals Brighton.

Now aged 37 and coming to the end of his playing career with Southampton, Lallana has decided to cash in on his stunning home.

The five bedroom property is on a small and exclusive cul-de-sac in an affluent area of Poole in Dorset.

Harry and Sandra Redknapp lived near the house for a couple of years while their bespoke mansion was built nearby.

The property is near the prestigious Parkstone Golf Club which counts Lallana's Southampton teammate Ryan Fraser as a member as well as former football manager Graeme Souness.

As well as the main home there is also a separate one bedroom gatehouse and a pool house on the gated estate.

Adam Lallana's Dorset mansion has hit the market for a whopping £12 million - nearly double the price he paid for it four years ago when he bought it for £6.3 million

The extensive grounds include a large outdoor heated swimming pool.

The mansion itself is spread over three floors and has a huge open plan living area which includes the kitchen with breakfast room, lounge and snug area.

There is also a massive entrance hall, dining room, formal sitting room and lounge bar on the ground floor.

The first floor is home to the master bedroom suite which has two dressing rooms, two balconies and an en suite bathroom.

There are three more en suite bedrooms on the first floor, two of which also have balconies - and a triple garage.

The top floor has the fifth bedroom with an adjoining bathroom and dressing room as well as an entertainment room and a gym.

The Regency-style mansion, which was only built in 2012, has 12,410 square feet of accommodation.

Unlike the exclusive peninsula where modern waterfront mansions are hemmed in, wealthy homeowners get far more property for their money in Canford Cliffs.

And whereas Sandbanks is more ostentatious with the public able to look into back gardens from the beach or the sea, the mansions in the leafy suburb are far more private.
