Patrick Bamford is in talks to join Spanish side Getafe.
The 32-year old striker is a free agent after mutually terminating his contract with Leeds United in the summer.
The former England international has had interest from a number of English sides, notably in the Championship, and has been considering a move to the MLS but the offer from Madrid-based Getafe appeals.
Talks are advancing with a conclusion expected within 24 hours.
Bamford has long held ambitions to play abroad and the opportunity to play in La Liga with eighth placed Getafe has come at an ideal juncture in his career.

The striker only managed 17 appearances in the Championship last season as Leeds secured promotion back to the Premier League
Getafe gave former Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood the perfect platform to relaunch his career and have been looking to bolster their attack after losing Christantus Uche to Crystal Palace last month.
Bamford scored 60 goals in just over 200 appearances at Leeds but was hindered by niggling injuries.
However, after a summer spent working on his fitness he is ready for a fresh start in Spain.
