Former NFL player Keith Browner Sr. has died at the age of 63, his son has told TMZ.
Browner Sr. was a formidable player at the University of Southern California in the early 1980s before playing five seasons in the NFL.
His son, former Houston Texans player Keith Browner Jr., revealed the news of his father's sudden passing on Tuesday.
A cause of death has not been confirmed but TMZ reports he suffered a heart attack and it was 'unexpected and sudden'.
Browner Jr. revealed he had only spoken to his father on Monday night and he was dealing with stomach issues. He was vomiting, felt tired and vowed to go to hospital on Tuesday.
But, as he was preparing to leave his house for the hospital, Browner Sr. collapsed to the floor next to his girlfriend.

Browner Sr. was drafted by Tampa Bay and went on to play for the Raiders, 49ers and Chargers
Browner Sr., a defensive end and linebacker, was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1984 and went on to also play for the Raiders, 49ers and Chargers.
Browner Jr., meanwhile, played college football at Cal as a defensive end and went on to have a four-year career in the NFL.
He spent time with both the Houston Texans and Chicago Bears.
As well as his son, Browner Sr. leaves behind four daughters: Keicha, Amber, Ashley and Jordan.
