Boxer Gervonta 'Tank' Davis is facing fresh legal action in Florida, less than two weeks before his scheduled exhibition bout against Jake Paul on November 14.

Paul and Davis are due to go toe-to-toe at a 195lbs catchweight in Miami on November 14, streamed live on Netflix from the Kaseya Center.

However, a civil complaint filed in Miami-Dade County on Thursday October 30, 2025, accuses Davis of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

The plaintiff - identified as Courtney Rossel, one of Davis' former girlfriends - alleges the fighter attacked her at a Miami strip club earlier this week.

According to the lawsuit obtained by ESPN, the incident occurred at Tootsies Cabaret, where Rossel worked as a server.

The filing claims Davis entered the club early Monday morning, assaulted her in a private area without surveillance. Davis is said to have continued the attack as he forced her through several back areas of the building and into the parking garage.

Rossel states that she and Davis were in a five-month relationship and that the incident followed multiple episodes of alleged abuse. The complaint details at least four previous altercations, including two in which Davis allegedly threatened to kill her.

One confrontation reportedly occurred on September 2, after Rossel failed to respond to messages from Davis. Another took place on September 23, when Davis allegedly accused her of infidelity, sent a text threatening to kill her, and then assaulted her at a restaurant on Lincoln Road.

Following this week's alleged attack, Davis is said to have texted Rossel that he was 'on [his] way' to her home, which she interpreted as a continued threat.

Attorney Jeffery Chukwuma, representing Rossel, confirmed that a report was also filed with the Miami Gardens Police Department. Police have not commented publicly on the matter.

The lawsuit says Rossel is now undergoing therapy for post-traumatic stress and anxiety and is living with others out of fear for her safety. She is seeking compensatory and punitive damages and has requested a jury trial.

Davis has previously faced legal issues, including domestic violence allegations and a 2023 hit-and-run conviction that resulted in 90 days of home detention and three years of probation
