Hockey announcer Aaron Sims got a surprise on Halloween when he was seemingly caught unaware on a live broadcast.

Sims, the play-by-play announcer for the Nashville Predators' AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals, called the team's defeat to the Cleveland Monsters on Friday night.

With the Admirals holding a 3-2 lead of the Monsters - the AHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets - in the second period, the game cut to a television timeout.

However, the in-arena broadcast continued to stream on AHLTV on FloHockey. Yet, Sims seemingly did not realize that his microphone had been left on and that it was continuing to be caught on the broadcast.

In a wholesome moment, Sims could be heard clearing his throat before breaking into a rendition of (It’s A) Monster’s Holiday by Buck Owens.

'Frankenstein was the first in line, And the Wolfman came up next,' he warbled the first line of the song in keeping with the spooky holiday festivities.

The Admirals went on to suffer a crushing 4-3 defeat in overtime against the Monsters

One hockey fan shared a clip of the adorable moment to X, writing: 'i don’t think the Milwaukee Admirals announcer knows they’re leaving his mic on during tv timeouts.'

Sims continued to call the game, which ended in a brutal a 4-3 overtime loss for the Admirals, and shared his immediate analysis on the team's social media account.

Milwaukee had trailed 2-0 just 12:12 minutes into the game after Cleveland’s Luca Del Bel Belluz scored twice in a 4:17 span.

However, the Admirals battled back thanks to goals from Jake Lucchini and Ryan Ufko, before David Edstrom chipped in with one of his own in the second period.

However, the Monsters evened things up at 3-3 as Jordan Dumais scored his first of the season shortly after Sims's impromptu singsong.

Following a scoreless third, Jack Williams clinched the win for Cleveland with his overtime goal.
