A scary scene in Blacksburg, Virginia showed the moment a woman nearly suffered a serious injury caused by a collision from a college football star.

During a game between the Virginia Tech Hokies and Miami Hurricanes, the Miami offense gained a huge chunk of yardage thanks to a strike to wide receiver Malachi Toney.

As Toney raced up the field, he managed to dodge two tackles before he continued to sprint up the sideline.

Virginia Tech defensive back Isaiah Brown-Murray was able to chase him down and then shoved him out of bounds.

The push led to Toney stumbling and staying on his feet as he headed straight toward Miami punter Dylan Joyce, a Miami staffer, and an unidentified woman.

While Joyce was standing to the side of the woman, the staffer was in front of her. That staff member then jumped out of the way - leaving the woman behind him exposed for a brutal hit.

After taking the full force of the blow, the woman was knocked back onto the ground as she just barely missed a railing and a concrete walkway behind the sidelines at Lane Stadium.

Thankfully, the woman was helped up by Toney, she stayed on her feet under her own power and appeared to be unharmed.

After a video began making the rounds, fans reacted with concern for her safety.

'Damn that could have been really bad. Wtf,' said one user on X.

Another user said, 'You gotta give her credit, the way she popped right up and was like I'm good. She took that hit like a champ.'

'I was so impressed she got up right away. That was a brutal hit. It was so close to being much worse,' a different comment read.

Another praised Toney, saying, 'Props to the player for helping her up right away. He was raised right.'

Miami was able to easily handle Virginia Tech by a score of 34-17 to move to 9-2 on the season.
