TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Statistics Indonesia (BPS) announced that Indonesia's economic growth in the third quarter of 2025 reached 5.04 percent annually or year-on-year (yoy). In the second quarter of this year, economic growth reached 5.12 percent.
Deputy for Balance of Payments and Statistics Analysis at BPS, Moh Edy Mahmud, stated that based on the gross domestic product (GDP) at current market prices in the third quarter of 2025, Indonesia's economy amounted to Rp6,060 trillion. At constant prices, it amounted to Rp3,444.8 trillion.
"Thus, Indonesia's economic growth in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the third quarter of 2024, or year on year, grew by 5.04 percent," he said in a press conference at the BPS headquarters, Jakarta, November 5, 2025.
Economic growth is supported by domestic economic activities and foreign demand. According to Edy, it grew by 1.43 percent compared to the previous quarter. Meanwhile, from January to September 2025, Indonesia's economy grew by 5.01 percent.
In terms of production, the sectors contributing significantly to the GDP growth are agriculture, trade, construction, and mining. The education sector experienced the highest growth, expanding by 10.9 percent. This growth was driven by the start of the new academic year and increased educational spending.
On the expenditure side, the export of goods and services saw the greatest growth, at 9.91 percent. Household consumption, which is the largest contributor to the economy, grew by 4.89 percent.
