TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Hashim Djojohadikusomo, the presidential special envoy on climate and energy, said the Indonesian government will inject US$20 billion into the Danantara sovereign wealth fund every year.
According to Hashim, the funds will be taken from the state budget. "The government plans to inject US$20 billion from the state budget every year," said Hashim at the Indonesia Green Energy Investment Dialogue 2025 event at the St. Regis Hotel, Jakarta, on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
The government, he said, will inject the funds during Prabowo’s tenure. “Hopefully, (Prabowo will serve) for 10 years,” said Prabowo’s younger brother.
Hashim added that Danantara will not finance projects by itself but will engage in joint investments with foreign investors. One type of investment that can be made, he said, is based on a 50-50 scheme. "So we will do it on a 50-50 basis, with Danantara receiving 50 percent and the investors jointly granted 50 percent," said Hashim.
President Prabowo previously launched the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency on February 24, 2025, at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. Prabowo stated that BPID Danantara is not just an investment fund management agency, but also an instrument for national development.
"Make no mistake, what we are launching today is not just an investment fund, but a national development instrument that must be able to change the way the nation's wealth is managed for the welfare of all the Indonesian people," said Prabowo in his inauguration speech for Danantara.
