Kansas City star Patrick Mahomes is no stranger to the spectacular and - during their defeat against the Cowboys - he produced yet another stunning moment.

The Chiefs signal caller pulled out all the stops during the clash at the AT&T Stadium on Thanksgiving however, in the end, it wasn't enough as the Chiefs lost 31-28.

Mahomes went 23-of-34 for 261 yards including four touchdowns but still couldn't drag Kansas City to the win, meaning they fall to 6-6 for the season.

Despite the loss, one moment in particular left fans stunned as Mahomes pulled off one of the most impressive plays of the season - with just four minutes to go.

Facing a three-and-six play, with the Chiefs down 10, Mahomes collected the ball off the snap and was immediately swarmed by two of the Cowboys defensive line.

As their tackles flew in, Mahomes somehow managed to evade them both but did begin to stumble - leaving many fans thinking he was about to hit the deck.

However, the Chiefs star regained his balance before launching a pinpoint 42-yard pass to Xavier Worthy, who eventually made it to Dallas' 20-yard line.

It proved to be a crucial moment in the game for the Chiefs, who went on to score shortly after, when Mahomes connected with Marquise Brown.

However, in the end, it wasn't enough to swing the momentum back in their favor and the Chiefs eventually fell to a 31-28 defeat against the Cowboys.

Despite the loss, that didn't stop fans from pouring onto social media to heap praise on the Chiefs signal caller for the stunning moment in the fourth quarter.

Taking to X, one fan wrote: 'I’m sorry this is just crazy'.

'Pat Mahomes is unreal,' another account wrote.

'Mahomes is the best there is', another said.

One user said: 'That’s the most ridiculous play this year'.

'I don’t care what y’all say, Mahomes is the best talent this league has ever seen,' another said.

Despite the adulation from fans online, it won't matter much to Mahomes. That's because the result means the Chiefs are more-than-likely to miss out on the playoffs.

Another defeat would rule them out of contention for the post-season, which would mark a historic fall-off from their Super Bowl visit back in February.

The last time the Chiefs failed to reach the playoffs was back in 2014, when Andy Reid’s side finished with a respectable 9–7 record but still fell short of a wildcard spot.

Since then, the turnaround has been remarkable with Kansas City racking up 10 consecutive appearances through 2024.

That run includes multiple AFC Championship games and three Super Bowl triumphs.
