TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, said it struck the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) General Staff and Defense Ministry building in the town of Caesarea, in its latest attack on Israel.
In a statement quoted by the Fars news agency, citing Antara, the IRGC said the targets also included strategic infrastructure in Bnei Brak, military installations in Petah Tikva northeast of Tel Aviv, and a military center in Western Galilee.
The IRGC also said more than 680 US and Israeli soldiers had been killed or wounded since the start of the conflict with Iran.
Meanwhile, Iran will begin a three-day state funeral on Wednesday evening for the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, DW reported. Khamenei was killed in US-Israeli airstrikes on Saturday, February 28, according to Iranian state media.
The state news agency IRNA said mourners would be able to pay their respects starting at 10:00 p.m. local time (1830 GMT/UTC) in Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosque.
He is expected to be buried in his birthplace of Mashhad, the country’s second-largest city.
On February 28, the US and Israel launched a series of attacks on a number of targets in Iran, including in Tehran, with reports of damage and civilian casualties.
Iran then launched a retaliatory missile attack on Israeli territory and US military facilities across the Gulf region.
