TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta provincial government provides free Formula E tickets to 3,400 outstanding high school and vocational school students in the capital city. Pramono Anung Wibowo, Jakarta Governor, hopes that the tickets for the electric car race at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) Ancol will boost the students' learning spirit.
In addition to the 3,400 free tickets for students, Pramono also distributed 200 tickets for their companions. "These are given to approximately 116 public high schools and 60 public vocational schools," said Pramono during the symbolic handover of the free Formula E tickets at Jakarta City Hall on Thursday, June 19, 2025.
Pramono said the Jakarta provincial government wants to allow Jakarta's youth to witness the international event directly. According to him, the Formula E race is impressive as it uses green and renewable energy.
On the same occasion, Pramono also discussed the importance of education for the younger generation. He mentioned that the Jakarta provincial government has provided various educational programs, such as the Smart Jakarta Card and the Outstanding Jakarta Student Card, which allow students in the capital to continue their education up to the master's and doctoral levels.
Pramono believes that studying in Jakarta is a golden opportunity for students. "I only have one message to convey as the governor of Jakarta: while education is a priority in Jakarta, make the best use of it," said the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle politician.
The 2025 Jakarta E-Prix international racing event will be held at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC), Ancol, on June 21, 2025. Public enthusiasm to witness this event in person has begun to emerge.
Chairperson of the Organizing Committee (OC) for the 2025 Formula E, Ananda Mikola, stated that they have prepared more than 20,000 tickets for the audience. Half of them have already been sold.
"The target is 20,000 (audience tickets). We've sold 10,000," said Ananda while inspecting a replica of the Formula E Gen 3 Evo car at the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout area, Central Jakarta, on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
