Europe's golfers have been briefed that Donald Trump will not be ‘roaming’ the course and causing excessive disruption on the tee boxes when the Ryder Cup commences on Friday.
As Daily Mail Sport revealed on Monday, the US President is not expected to arrive on site until late morning on the opening day, meaning he will skip the first session and only be in place for the afternoon fourballs.
That measure came amid concerns of serious delays brought about by the increased security operation, but given Trump’s unpredictable nature there remains significant intrigue about how he will seek to involve himself at Bethpage Black.
To that end, Luke Donald’s European team have been handed certain assurances, with Justin Rose revealing on Wednesday that Trump is expected to adopt a lower profile.
Rose said: ‘Obviously he's going to bring certainly a lot of attention and patriotism to the event. I don't know what I can say, but I don't think he's going to be on the tee box with us or roaming the course.
‘So from that point of view, I think there will just be a lot of noise around it, but I'm not sure there will be the continued distraction of it.

'But again, I could be wrong - it’s just based upon what I've heard, how they're going to handle his movements around the property.
‘Listen, it's great for golf that he's engaged in the game and obviously he brings a lot of eyeballs with him.’
Fans have also been banned from bringing range finders to the tournament after one of the devices was used in an assassination attempt last year.
The gadget, designed to measure distances on a golf course, was among a list of prohibited items circulated on Wednesday as Cup organisers scrambled to make plans for Trump’s arrival.
It follows reports that a range finder was deployed by Thomas Matthew Crooks prior to his rifle attack on Trump in Pennsylvania in July 2024.
Large umbrellas and hard-cased cup holders will also be seized, with crowds told to arrive as early as 5am for Friday’s opening day to counter the huge security operation brought on by Trump’s trip to the New York course.

Asked if he would welcome the president to join Team Europe on the stage in the event of an away win, Rose added: ‘100 per cent, yeah, we would love the opportunity. Listen, I'm not sure he's going to want to be on the stage congratulating the team that sort of wins in his backyard.
‘But of course, he's the President, ultimate respect, and that would be a great opportunity.’
