The wild college football drama taking over the world of sport has taken a fresh twist after it emerged LSU has sent two private jets to Mississippi to collect Lane Kiffin and his family.

Ole Miss head football coach Kiffin is continuing to weigh up an offer to take over the vacant role at LSU, but his delayed decision has left fans wondering: will he stay or go?

A new report from Yahoo Sports' Ross Dellenger claims that Ole Miss has sent two private planes down to Oxford, Mississippi, where Kiffin and his family live, in the hope of enticing him to accept their offer.

Rumors continue to swirl over whether he will leave for Louisiana, and the coach himself poured fuel on the fire by posting on Twitter: 'At the office now. Pops thumbs up!! Wish I could hug you right now and you could guide me. Love ya.'

It was reported on Saturday night that Kiffin's desire to finish the season with Ole Miss before leaving for LSU is holding up a formal announcement on his future.

There is a staggering $90million offer on the table for him to depart Ole Miss and take over the LSU Tigers' program.

ESPN's college football insider Pete Thamel also reported on Sunday morning that a team meeting scheduled for 10am EST has been moved back, leading to further speculation over a U-turn from Kiffin.

One day after their playoff-clinching win over Mississippi State, Dellenger claimed Kiffin has accepted the offer and is on the verge of becoming the Tigers' new head coach.

However, in an hours-long meeting with Ole Miss chiefs on Saturday night, Kiffin reportedly told the Rebels that he still wants to coach them through the College Football Playoff.

It is believed that request is the snag delaying the formalization of his move, with Ole Miss reluctant to let him lead the team in the postseason if he has chosen to depart.

Conflicting reports on Saturday night also claimed that he could yet stay with Ole Miss permanently, leading to much confusion among college football fans.

The 50-year-old met with Rebels athletic director Keith Carter and chancellor Glenn Boyce at the latter's home to discuss his future on Saturday.

The meeting is understood to have lasted more than three hours, before vehicles believed to belong to Carter and Kiffin were seen leaving the house at roughly 6:45pm.
