Former Liverpool favourite Dietmar Hamann has claimed Arne Slot's time at Liverpool is coming to an end amid the reigning Premier League champions dismal run of form.
Liverpool have suffered nine defeats from their last 12 matches, a remarkable decline having started the season with a run of seven straight wins.
The slump has included three consecutive defeats by three goals having lost 3-0 away to Man City in the Premier League, before losing 3-0 to Nottingham Forest and 4-1 to PSV at Anfield.
With Liverpool enduring their worst run of form since the 1953-54 season, Slot is facing mounting pressure despite delivering the title last campaign.
Hamann, who was part of Liverpool's Champions League winning side in 2005, believes Slot has 'lost control' of the team and that has credit has 'run out'.
'Slot's end is near,' Hamann told Sky Sport Germany. 'I never thought it would come to this after the brilliant season he had, but I believe his credit has now run out.
Dietmar Hamann has claimed Arne Slot's time at Liverpool is coming to an end
Former Liverpool favourite Hamann believes 'Slot has lot control of the team' and has run out of credit
'I believe Arne Slot has lost control of the team. It's falling apart, everyone is doing what they want, like Salah before PSV's second goal.
'Liverpool will have major problems finishing in the Premier League top four. I don't believe these problems can be solved quickly or easily.
'The situation is so complex that the club will certainly be discussing the manager's position.'
Hamann suggested Liverpool could seek to address their miserable form by attempting to tempt Jurgen Klopp back to the club.
Klopp stepped down as Liverpool boss in 2024 after nine years in charge, having won the Premier League, Champions League, the FA Cup and Carabao Cup at the club.
Klopp, now 58, had said he had made the decision because he was 'running out of energy.
He has previously suggested he may never return to management, a claim he doubled down on in September.
Klopp is currently the Head of Global Football at Red Bull, a role he took up at the start of the year.
Hamann suggested Liverpool could try to tempt Jurgen Klopp to return to the club
'Many are already longing for Jürgen Klopp's return,' Hamann added.
'If you ask the fans, many will surely say: "That would be something"
'How likely is it that he'll return to Liverpool? I have no idea. But it would be the story of the decade.
'The club will already have considered alternative managers. I assume they've spoken with Klopp.'
Hamann's comments come after his former Liverpool team-mate Jamie Carragher suggested Slot had 'a week' to save his job.
Carragher claimed Slot needs to earn at least seven points from their upcoming fixtures against West Ham, Sunderland and Leeds to remain in his post.
The Reds travel to face West Ham on Sunday, with Slot's side currently down in 12th in the Premier League.
