TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) announced an extension of operating hours for the LRT Jabodebek service on weekends, starting Saturday, November 23, 2024. This move aims to cater to increased demand by providing late-night transportation options.
Mahendro Trang Bawono, Public Relations Manager of LRT Jabodebek, explained that there will be also additional 10 trips on weekends, increasing the total number of trips from 260 to 270. This decision is based on a rise in weekend ridership over the past three months.
“The average daily weekend ridership continues to increase, from 34,982 in August to 35,279 in September, and further to 41,784 in October,” he said in an official statement released on Friday, November 22, 2024.
Mahendro emphasized that this policy aligns with the company's efforts to provide optimal transportation services. By extending operating hours, KAI aims to enhance public convenience and support improved urban mobility.
“KAI hopes to continue delivering the best service to the public, ensuring safe and comfortable journeys, and contributing to the growth of mass transportation in the Jabodebek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi) region,” he added.
The revised last departure schedules for LRT Jabodebek are as follows:
- Dukuh Atas BNI - Harjamukti, from 22:01 to 22:39 Jakarta time (WIB)
