TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - LRT Jabodebek has recorded its highest passenger count since beginning operations. On Monday, July 1, 2025, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) recorded a total of 118,114 users in a single day. This new figure surpasses the previous record of 114,000 passengers set on May 28, 2025.
This surge represents a 19 percent hike compared to the daily average weekday ridership in June. Mochamad Purnomosidi, Executive Vice President of LRT Jabodebek, attributed this rise to an increase in the number of daily trips.
Currently, the daily number of weekday journeys has increased from 366 to 398 trips. "This is aimed at improving service capacity and reducing waiting times during peak hours," he said in a written statement on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
Beyond service adjustments, Purnomosidi noted that the passenger surge was also influenced by shifts in community mobility patterns. Traffic re-routing on several main roads during the 78th anniversary of the National Police on Tuesday encouraged people to switch to public transportation, which was perceived as more practical and efficient.
"We appreciate the public's enthusiasm and trust. This is evidence that public transportation like LRT Jabodebek is increasingly becoming the primary choice for residents in their activities," he said.
The three stations with the highest LRT Jabodebek user volume yesterday were: Dukuh Atas BNI Station with 20,518 tap-ins and 18,792 tap-outs, Harjamukti Station with 13,220 tap-ins and 13,359 tap-outs, and Kuningan Station with 11,389 tap-ins and 10,747 tap-outs.
