Manchester United have reportedly made contact with Chelsea over the possibility of signing one of their wantaway stars this summer.

The Red Devils have been in the market for forward players this summer, as they bid to improve on a meagre tally of 44 goals last season in the Premier League.

Ruben Amorim's side have already secured the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves this summer for £62.5million.

Man United have also been pursuing £60million-rated Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, with Mail Sport reporting earlier this month that a £55m bid had been rejected.

According to French newspaper L'Equipe, Man United are considering a move for Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku.

The report states that Man United have made contact with Nkunku’s entourage to discuss terms of a possible transfer, but are yet to make an official offer.

Man United have reportedly made contact over a potential move for Christopher Nkunku

The Red Devils have reportedly targeted the forward to strengthen Ruben Amorim's attack

Nkunku, centre, is reportedly keen to leave Chelsea after two seasons at the club

Nkunku is claimed to have attracted interest from several clubs this summer as the French international reportedly looks to leave Chelsea this summer.

The 27-year-old had joined Chelsea in a £52.7m move back in 2023 after starring at RB Leipzig.

Nkunku saw his first season interrupted by injury which restricted him to just 14 appearances.

He scored 14 goals in 43 matches last season, but only three came in the league.

Chelsea had placed a £60m price tag on Nkunku during the January transfer window amid interest from Bayern Munich, but the forward ultimately stayed at the club.

Reports have claimed the forward, who is part of the Blues squad at the Club World Cup in the United States, wants to leave the club this summer.
